include:
30 Adding a 50+ class to attract more
riders
31 Segment scoring for juniors

in each category
34 Promoter feedback and signatures of understanding on WCA Cyclocross
race guidelines

Masters Discussion
There had been considerable jaw flapping
on the topic of masters catergories in late '04, and the question
was raised as to how to continue to provide a solid race opportunity
for 30 and 40+ riders, and also provide a race for beginning riders
of masters age.
The board reviewed the hard evidence, supplied by race results,
and the numbers showed the highest number of riders in the 50+ age
group were cat 4s. Further, most of the 30+ masters riders were
cat 2, and 3 riders. Those facts, and a vote on suggested masters
category led to the following masters categories being approved
by the members present; note: promoters are encouraged (it’s
optional, but encouraged) to use these masters categories:
Masters 1,2,3*
Masters 4,5 *
*Masters are age 30 and up; age group results would be broken down
in 10 year increments (30+, 40+, 50+ and possibly, 60+) as always,
and masters points would be awarded in those 10 year increments.
In addition, a new trophy would be added for the Masters 4,5 category.
A discussion group will continue on the yahoo discussion group,
facilitated by board members Larry Kilduff and Scott Grosz to answer
any questions about masters racing.
Promter’s Packet
Heidi Mingesz reviewed the packet and
asked that promoters note changes:
38 USAC is enforcing late fees. Race
permits must be mailed to Heidi 6 weeks in advance of the race
date to avoid late fees; review your packet for information on
when you must have your permit application submitted…or
pay the late fee
39 All flyers need to be reviewed by Heidi and should be included
with the race permitting material 6 weeks in advance. No flyers
will be posted until they are approved, and this is a USAC requirement
that WCA is obliged to follow. Remember, flyers must be posted
30 days before your event.
