21 riders
contested the annual Kenosha Mayor’s Cup at the Washington Park Velodrome.
Of those riders six were able to escape and score a lap on the remaining
15. The clear leader and eventual winner of the Cup was Rob Springer -
Hayes Brake. Coming off his recent Cat. 3 Wisconsin State Criterium victory,
Springer exhibited his dominant strength and speed. Scoring in each sprint
and winning six of those sprints Rob secured the victory with 20 laps
remaining. Second place rider Kaz Milas out-pointed the rest by scoring
in 10 sprints. On July 17th the riders will contest the 150 lap Bob Pfarr
Classic.
