2004 Wisconsin Cup Series Guidelines
- Eligibility and Awards
- Points will be awarded
only to riders who possess a current annual USCF license with
a Wisconsin address.
- Club points will
be awarded only to those clubs that are members in good standing
of the Wisconsin Cycling Association.
- Wisconsin Cup points
will be awarded for road events :Road Races, Criteriums, Individual
Time Trials
- There will be no
points for Team Time Trials.
- Points will only
be awarded in events that are placed on the WCA calendar by
February 1, 2004.
- There will be three
places recognized in each class/category.
- Race Organizer Requirements
- The promoting organization
shall be a member of the WCA.
- The event organizer
will obtain a race permit from USA Cycling.
- All USA Cycling/USCF
rules will govern said races.
- The race announcement
must state "Wisconsin Cup Series Race" and contain
the Wisconsin Cup logo.
- The race announcement
must be distributed to all WCA clubs and/or published so that
each club receives notice of the race at least 30 days prior
to the event. The notice must conform to all guidelines of
USAC (Standard Race Announcement)
- Race organizers will
pay the WCA surcharge on the last day of their events. The
total number of entrants will determine the WCA surcharge
in the event. The 2004 WCA surcharge will be $1.00 per rider
per event entered, with a $150 minimum for criteriums and
road races to help offset the cost of photofinish, which WCA
subsidizes for every club member.

- The race organizer
must supply sufficient volunteers to run a safe and well-ordered
event.
- Competitor Considerations
- Wisconsin Cup Points
will be awarded to the first ten eligible finishers.
- Wisconsin Cup Points
will apply only in the class/category in which they were earned
- Wisconsin Cup Points
will be awarded in the following classes/categories only:
- Pro,1,2
- Category 3
- Category 4
- Women 1,2,3
- Women Category
4
- Masters 30+
- Masters 40+
- Masters 50+
- Junior-12 Boys
- Junior 12 Girls
- Junior 14Boys
- Junior 14 Girls
- Junior 16 Boys
- Junior 16 Girls
- Junior 18 Boys
- Junior 18 Girls
- Competitors in races,
which do not fall into one of the above classes, will not
be awarded points.
- Wisconsin Cup Points
category determination is based on the highest category in
that event.
- Examples:
- A Cat. 4 wins
Cat. 4 Wisconsin Cup Points in a Cat. 4 race.
- A Cat. 4 wins
Cat. 3 Wisconsin Cup Points in a Cat. 3 and 4 race.
- A Cat. 3 wins
Cat. 3 Wisconsin Cup Points in a Cat. 3 race and a Cat.
3 and 4 race.
- A Cat. 3 wins
Cat. 1, 2 Wisconsin Cup Points in a Cat. 1, 2, and 3
race.
- When separate
races are not offered for the 50+ class, those riders
electing to score 50+ points will race in the 40+ race
and be tabulated separately for Wisconsin Cup points.
- Juniors (boys and
girls) shall each be scored according to their racing age,
regardless of the prize list divisions of an event. A Junior
who races more than one Junior race at any given event will
score points in his/her own age class, and in the youngest
age class of the additional race.
- Hot spot sprint points
will be awarded to the first 3 eligible riders across a designated
sprint line.
- All criterium events
are to have 2 sprint laps per race.
- Promoter & Chief
Referee will determine when sprint laps will occur; normally
during the first half of the race.
- The finishing sprint
cannot be counted for WCA Hot Spot Competition points.
- Hot spot points will
be added to Wisconsin Cup finish points.
- Riders must finish
the race in order to be awarded Hot Spot Points.
- Points scored will
be 4 points for first place, 2 points for second, and 1 point
for third.
- Points sprints may
be combined with merchandise primes at the option of the race
organizer.
- No sprint points
will be awarded in any state championship race.
- No sprint points
will be awarded in races where multiple classes are racing
together.

- If at the end of
the year riders are tied for an overall place, the tie shall
be broken according to the omnium rules in the USCF rulebook.
- Cyclocross Points
- There must be at
least three (3) races during the year to qualify for a Wisconsin
Cup award.
- Riders accumulate
points in each class in which they compete. Points totals
will not transfer from one class/category to another.
- Winners will be recognized
in the following classes/categories:
- Women A/B
- Women C
- Men A
- Men B
- Men C
- Masters 30+
- Masters 40+
- Juniors
- Points won shall
be based on Cyclocross Schedule 1.
- Wisconsin State Cyclocross
Championships shall have points awarded to twenty (20) places
based on Cyclocross Schedule 1. If fewer than twenty people
finish the race, only those riders who finish the race will
receive points.

| Cyclocross

- Club Points
- Club points shall
be totaled for each club based on their registered riders'
places in the overall results of the Wisconsin Cup.
- Points will be awarded
to the top ten in each Road category and the top three places
in each Cyclocross category.
- Hot spot points will
not be added to Club Points
